Who TF is Lounge?

G’day Peoples!

Lounge here (yes like the couch). I am Music Producer, Multi instrumentalist and Songwriter, working out of 4000 Studios in Brisbane. I have been obsessed with music since I got my first shitty red guitar at 6 years old. In year 1, my school teacher yelled at me for being too aggressive with my guitar pick playing “Chop Suey” by System of a Down. What a doofus.

I spent the following 20 years playing and writing music in various bands whilst occasionally falling into a 2 week season of posting cringy social media reels expecting instant virality.

These days I’m happily married to my band Phil and the Blanks. As the bands guitarist & producer a lot of my creative juju gets distributed here.

My general philosophy on production is that it all has to start with a song that makes you feel something. If we’re not laughing, crying or bopping our heads with an Ice Cube face. Forget it.

My favourite way to work with someone is to be involved from the conception of the song right through to the final master. Recording your music should feel like play and I generally try to approach all aspects of music in this way. Taking yourself too seriously can obstruct the humanity of your songs. Without humanity we’re really just left with a bunch of sounds. And the thing about a bunch of sounds is, no one cares.

I love making music and I love talking about music, so let’s connect and discuss what you’re excited about right now!

Drop me an email with your music and a bit about yourself!
